Engineering Sciences, Technology and Agriculture [CESTA] sponsored the Third Annual Awards
and Recognition Banquet on Tuesday, February 29, 2000. Dean Bobby R. Phills
recognized the scientific accomplishments of PHEREC's Dr Jim Dukes by presenting him the
Faculty Award for Research. Dr. Dukes' many accomplishments include FDACS-sponsored
Aerial Drift Studies that are acknowledged to be of great benefit to Florida's Mosquito
Control Districts. Dr. Dukes has also contributed to the efficacy data of the most
important pesticides that are the main weapons used against pest mosquitoes in Florida.
